This 300G hardtop is one of 1617 300's produced for the year 1961. It has the factory cross-ram engine with 2-4 barrel carburetors, is rated at 375 h.p., and 495 foot-pounds of torque. It is equipped with a 3 speed Torqueflite auto transmission, Sure-Grip differential, and dual exhausts with low restriction mufflers. Various auto magazines tested 1961 300's, finding 1/4 mile times of approximately 16 seconds and a trap speed of approximately 89 mph. 0-60 times varied from 7.9 seconds to 8.3 seconds. This is not too shabby for a car that weighs approximately 4700 lbs. This car is restored to near-factory specifications, with minor changes for dependability only. It is painted Alaskan White, and has 4 leather bucket seats. Only 415 hardtops are known to exist by serial number, and quite a few of those are parts cars only. All in all, it's a fairly rare car. |
